After getting their league campaign off to a flying start with a 3-0 win over Surrey side Addlestone on the Saturday, previous season?s Southern Division runners up United made the trip to Occupation Road to face a side who finished next to bottom in the Midland Division. It was the Northamptonshire side who came out on top with a single goal win in the first ever meeting between the clubs.
