After gaining only their second Southern League Midland Division point of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Bromsgrove Rovers at Turnfurlong Lane on the Saturday, United made the short Tuesday night trip to Marriotts Close for a League Cup tie but were unlucky to go out after having had enough of the play to have earned a replay.
What proved to be the only goal of the night came in the 21st minute when Martin Blackler's fairly innocuous looking cross landed behind Jason Seacole but the former Oxford United star managed to hook the ball on the volley past helpless Ducks keeper Keith Baker.
