After bouncing back from 2 straight defeats at Bromsgrove and Crawley with a 5-1 home win over Dorchester in their next game, The Ducks' return to action after an 11 day gap saw them use up their latest 'get out of jail free' card as they kept up their title challenge with a narrow win over struggling Gosport at Buckingham Road.

What proved to be the only goal came in the 20th minute when Kevin James sent an inswinging right wing corner to the near post where Borough keeper Tony Stares came and missed, Peter Hutter took the loose ball and fired in a cracking shot which Glen Buck cleared off the line, the ball found its way back to James who crossed for Cliff Hercules to steal in and glance his header home from 3 yards with Stares nowhere.
