A first time volley from Glen Donegal smacked against the woodwork after only five minutes, but on the 15 minute mark came Cliff Hercules' first of the afternoon when he accepted a pass from Glen and chipped over Cogenhoe keeper Pete Bulliman from the edge of the box. Five minutes later Bulliman made a hash of throwing out the ball and Cliff pounced to sidefoot into the net with ease.
Glen opened his account after 36 minutes by breaking clear of the defence before rounding the keeper and slotting home.
At half-time Paul Ewart and Davie Pert replaced Lambie and Rambo Reed, and fifteen minutes into the half Paul scored number four following a pass inside by Glen. Two minutes later Simon Mason ventured into the area, rounded Bulliman and crossed to give Cliff a simple tap in to complete his hat-trick.
The best goal of the afternoon came on 71 minutes following a terrific deep cross from the left by Junior Wilson to the far post where Glen scored with a powerful header.
Trevor came on for Cliff for the last eleven minutes but even with the introduction of the Ducks' answer to Gazza, no further goals came our way.
