The Ducks season had progressed reasonably well and despite consecutive defeats at Walton & Hersham and Hendon, they sat in sixth position in the Isthmian Premier Division. The visitors on the other hand were struggling somewhat and were only four places above the relegation line.
The match started brightly as Aylesbury took the lead within five minutes. Michael Danzey's spectacular curling effort from sixteen yards set the ball rolling, before Danzey and on loan strike partner Steve Conroy squandered great chances.
Chesham hit back just before the break with their only shot on goal. Former West Ham man Alan Dickens set up Steve Scott who lobbed United keeper Rob Wild from a full thirty yards.
Eighteen minutes into the second period the Ducks were back in front as Naseem Bashir struck home from some way out, and four minutes later Paul Hobbs headed home a Conroy cross to increase his side's advantage.
Despite hitting the woodwork the Green United had to wait until the final eight minutes to put the game out of reach. Cliff Hercules bundled the ball home for the fourth before Danzey completed the rout from close range with just about the last kick of the game.
