As part of the club's centenary celebrations, the evening was billed as a family night and balloon shaping, trick cycling and fire eating kept the crowd amused prior to kick off. United weren't as entertaining immediately though and fell behind after five minutes. Roger Charles crashing the Buckingham Road party and scoring from a Fontaine cross.
Aylesbury finally stepped up a gear and an Eddie Denton twenty yard effort and a strike from captain Mickey Danzey reversed Aylesbury's fortunes before half time.
After the break Swaysland showed off his party pieces. A Kevin Davies knock down set up his first nine minutes into the second period, but the second of his four was the best, taking Kieran Gallagher's cross in his stride before unleashing an unstoppable effort past Ian Moores in the Oxford goal.
Swaysland completed his hat-trick five minutes later courtesy of a Jim Meara through ball, before completing the rout twelve minutes from time. The majority of the 874 crowd left knowing they'd seen something very special indeed.
