The tie was turned on its head in the 37th minute when United's Scott Honeyball was sent off for violent conduct after an off the ball incident in the box involving Bracknell skipper Dave Osgood and from the resulting penalty, Gary Holzman coolly sent Ducks keeper James Courtnage the wrong way to put the visitors ahead.
The Ducks were thrown a lifeline in the 57th minute when a violent clash on the touchline between Town's Giles Marchant and United's Roni Joe saw Marchant red carded and Joe yellow carded.
The hosts surged forward in search of an equaliser but despte all the pressure, they created little and lacked penetration with visiting keeper Lee Cobby called into action on very few occasions and so it was the Berkshire side who earned a money-spinning trip to Football League side Lincoln City in the 1st Round proper.
