To make matters worse, Gareth Risbridger was sent off for an appalling tackle which left the referee with no option. By this time the Ducks weren't getting a kick of the ball, and were letting their frustration show with a lack of discipline.
However, a lifeline came just before half-time, as Adam Campion was felled in the box for a United penalty. Craig Maskell stepped up to send it home, and send the Ducks into the tunnell with the score 2-1.
The introduction of Greg Williams at half time, the Ducks suddenly clicked into gear. With some neat play Aylesbury dominated procedings, and looked likely to score.
A goal didn't arrive until the 89th minute, however. Kezie Ibe popping up to cap an impressive display with a close range goal.
Overall a 2-2 draw on the first day of the season is a fair result. On the 1st half performance, we will be slaughtered on Tuesday against St. Albans. If, however, we can raise our game like in the 2nd half, then we shouldn't do too badly.
