It was the Shots who had the better of the first half despite Craig Maskell forcing keeper Nikki Bull into an early save.
Aldershot danger man Roscoe D'Sane hit the post whilst a good move involving Dean Hooper and Jason Chewins saw a Paul Moody header well saved by Adam Wheeler mid way through the first half.
Wheeler was forced into action again once again, this time saving from D'Sane, before bedlam broke out deep in United's half on forty minutes.
A scuffle involving at least twenty players saw red cards issue to Aylesbury's Tony Houghton and Aldershot's Dean Hooper which meant both sides would have to complete the match with ten men.
United started the second half much brighter and Joe Baker hit the post before giving his side the lead on fifty three minutes from close range.
Things got even better for the Ducks two minutes later when Chris Bangura scored with an overhead kick from an Adam Campion cross.
On sixty minutes Aldershot were back in the game when substitute Jamie Taylor, who opened the scoring for Aldershot against the Ducks a week earlier, pulled a goal back with a good finish. The shots then equalised on seventy eight minutes when D'Sane hit the bar from 20 yards out and Paul Moody was on hand to bang the rebound home.
Despite throwing away a winning position United kept their heads up and introduced Roni Joe and Kezie Ibe to try and penetrate the Aldershot defence.
The substitution paid dividends three minutes from time when Ibe was fouled by Lee Holsgrove just inside the box to win his side a penalty.
Despite attempts from the visiting fans behind the goal to put him off Craig Maskell stood up to convert his 6th penaly of the season and secure an unexpected three points.
