Our first real chance came on 10 minutes, when a Roni Joe pass found Harper, whose shot was smothered by the visitors keeper. Within a few minutes a mazy Joe run finished with a pass to Gell who was hacked down. Alex Stanley sent the resulting free kick over.
The first 25 minutes though really belonged to Ford who put us under constant pressure. Firm defending by Gordon, Stanley and Dicker, coupled with some weak finshing kept the scores level. Ford's McLeod latched onto a loose ball on 25 minutes forcing a good save from Worgan. Every move forward Ford made they looked strong.
After the half hour mark the home side started to get back into the game. A good chance fell to Ibe on 36 minutes, but he was charged down. Campion then forced the visiting keeper to tip over on 40 minutes.
The breakthrough first goal came just on the stroke of half time. Another mazy Roni Joe run saw his resulting shot parried by the keeper into the path of Harper, who coolly slotted the ball home. 1-0 Aylesbury
The whistle for half time followed shortly.
To sum up the first half, the visitors for much of the game were on top, but we got into the game more as it went on. Roni Joe was very good on the right and Michael Harper inspirational up front.
The second period began as the first had done, except the home side were on the ascendancy, boosted by the goal.
Roni Joe was bought down on the edge of the opposition box within minutes of the restart and seconds later a half chance fell to the Fist with Kezie Ibe winning a great ball on the right. A great pass from Ibe found Harper in space on 51 minutes, but unfortunately the new boy fired wide.
The second goal came on 57 minutes, and was the result of a magnificent solo effort by Adam Campion. Picking up the ball inside his own half, the young winger continued his run before planting a shot past Ratis in the Ford goal. 2-0 Aylesbury
The visitors began to get a little niggly, giving away a few silly free kicks during the middle of half. Round the hour mark the visitors started to get back into the game though.
Chris Bangura replaced Adam Campon on 74 minutes.
Worgan was forced into making a fine save from a header from a speculative Ford cross a few moments later. The Ducks though continued to get players forward with Harper a revelation up front.
Harper made way for Wiffin on 81 minutes.
All in all this was a polished Ducks performance. The passing was fluent and we were getting players forward well. Ford played the game at a quick pace to begin with forcing us to defend well.
After the disappointment of the weekend Cordery's green and white army responded in the best possible manner and earned themselves a priceless three points.
