Once more, Aylesbury made the worst possible start. With just three minutes on the clock, the out of sorts Danny Gordon was disposessed by Michael Black, before the striker ran on and stuck the ball past Kevin Davies. 1-0 Billericay
Aylesbury looked to hit back straight away, and took just seven minutes to get level. After Mark Reed went close with a shot straight into Luke Weaver's arms, Alvin Bubb levelled for United. Some more good work by Reed resulted in the ball being squeezed across the goalmouth, before being bundled home by Bubb. 1-1
The home side went close again as [9] shot wide after getting himself free, before Darren Lynch had a shot deflected into the arms of Weaver for Aylesbury.
Another chance came the way of Billericay, as [9] and [11] went for the same header, and saw the effort come to nothing. The lively [10] hit a half-volley wide from a delivery following a corner, as the home side looked to re-establish their lead.
The Ducks were visibly struggling and Kevin Wilson chose to replace Danny Gordon with Josh Sozzo, and moved Aaron Cavill to right-back.
Before half-time it was Billericay creating the only chances. [10] went on a run, but saw his shot easily held by Davies. Davies then excelled himself by tipping wide [11]'s free-header. The same player then had a weak header easily held by the keeper.
Half-time: Billericay 1-1 Aylesbury
Lewis Reid moved to right-back in the only change at half-time.
The half began in determined fashion from the Ducks. Lynch used his strength to turn in the area, but couldn't get enough power on his shot. At the other end a foray forward saw [9] head wide from close range, when the striker really should have scored.
Aylesbury's good work then produced results, as the Ducks took the lead. A long-kick from Kevin Davies was flicked on by Lynch, and Mark Reed ran onto the ball, past the last defender and fired into the bottom corner. 2-1 Aylesbury
The Ducks had chances to add to their lead soon after, as Bubb ran through and shot wide, and Lynch headed a cross wide after a corner was cleared.
Billericay manager Justin Edinburgh made two changes, and his side responded by pressing forward. Some chaotic defending by Aylesbury resulted in the ball not being properly cleared, and with the goal open a Billericay player saw his shot blocked.
United had two further chances, from Bubb and Lynch. The winger shot wide again, and the striker headed wide from a corner. For Billericay [6] got forward and let fly on his left-foot, which flew wide of the post.
Sadly for the away side, they just couldn't hold onto their lead, and Billericay equalised two minutes from time. A player got away down the left, and delivered an excellent cross which was nodded home to leave the Ducks heartbroken. 2-2
In fact, Billericay could have won the match at the end, as they put Aylesbury under more pressure. [14] came closest, with a rising drive that went just over the bar.
So the match ended 2-2, a somewhat disappointing result for the Ducks. However, they really deserved to take the three points.
