As first-halfs go this was pretty poor from United, but it could have been so different as Paul Edgeworth scuffed a shot wide in the opening seconds as did Daniel French, both having been teed up by the returning Drew Roberts.
Disaster struck just four minutes in when Lynn raced into the lead. The defence stood motionless, failing to mark their opponents appropriately, and Danny Bloomfield easily headed home a curling cross. 1-0 King's Lynn
The visitors came again six minutes on, and again found the back of the net with a header. Danny Hammond with the almost embarassingly easy task of nodding home a corner kick. 2-0 King's Lynn
Defensively the Ducks weren't at the races in the first half, and they struggled in midfield too, often giving the ball away cheaply. But they were still a threat in the final third, as Colin Baker proved racing on to Edgeworth's square ball before powering in a shot that had to be tipped wide by Stevie Wilson.
King's Lynn scored their third goal, with their third attack of the game, after 21 minutes. Robby Harris beat the offside trap, and his early shot caught out Jack Rashid as the ball seemed to go straight through him.
Baker always looked dangerous, and went close again with an effort that went across the goal, but Lynn could have added a fourth. Mark Angel robbed Liam Folds, and sprinted clear but couldn't direct his effort past Rashid.
Roberts went close for Aylesbury, with an effort that flashed wide after he'd fed off Edgeworth's clever pass, and French placed a marvellous shot towards the top corner which was well saved by Wilson.
The end of the first half was end to end action, as Lynn's Jack Defty saw an effort deflected onto the bar by an Aylesbury defender, and Danny Hammond somehow missed the goal having turned on a sixpence inside the United area.
Half-time: Aylesbury 0-3 King's Lynn
After an early scare in which Defty headed a cross over, Aylesbury gradually improved after the break. Jamie Kearns and Kai Ridley came on to give the home side a boost, but although the posession increased, Lynn defended doggedly and were hard to break down.
A deserved goal eventually came in the 70th minute. Daniel Mead dribbled his way into the area, and although his effort was blocked by Wilson, the rebound was rolled in by Greg Williams.
With twenty minutes remaining the goal sparked hope from the Green & White clad, but Lynn continued to defend in numbers and stifle most of what Aylesbury had to offer. 3-1 King's Lynn
French dragged a shot wide, and Wilson nearly punched the ball into his own net having misjudged a Mead free-kick. Liam Folds looked to repeat his goalscoring escapades of Hitchin with a 25-yard piledriver which was close, but only troubled the top of the net.
With Aylesbury pushing forward desperately looking for a goal, Lynn struck back and added a fourth in the final minutes. Chris Bacon broke free of the Aylesbury backline, rounded Rashid 20-yards from goal, before squaring the ball for Matt O'Halloran to easily finish. 4-1 King's Lynn
The defeat means Aylesbury are still only two points outside the play-off zone, but with other teams having games in hand over the Ducks breaking into the top five will be tough. Hednesford away will be a hard game, and will be a test of the true quality of Danny Nicholls' side.
