Neil Trebble took the opportunity to recall wingers Aston Goss and former Wycombe youngster Leon Gordon to the starting line-up, whilst Matt Butler also returned to the side.
The first half saw the sides evenly matched, although as expected the visitors retention of the ball was superior but chances were limited for both sides.
Wycombe had a chance for an early breakthrough, through midfielder Josh Mulvaney, but his shot was deflected wide. Mulvaney, a 16-year old England youth international had only signed for the club this week from Southampton.
United then fashioned a chance of their own, when Richard Pringle played Leon Gutzmore in behind the defence, but the striker could only manage a low shot which was easily gathered by Steve Williams.
The Chairboys' best opportunity of the half fell to Charlie Griffin, who played against the Ducks for Forest Green Rovers last season, but his fierce effort was superbly saved by Reece Kirk - not that it would have mattered as the linesman ruled offside.
Aylesbury made two half-time changes, replacing midfielder David Barratt with young left-back Justin Gordon, pushing Dean Powles into midfield, and switching Damon Ming for Leon Gordon on the right flank.
After the interval Wycombe looked to up the heat on their hosts, but it was United who nearly took the lead. Aiden Collins stumbled under pressure from Richard Pringle, and the ball was played through to Gutzmore who raced clear of the defence, but his finish rolled past the post.
Wycombe seized the initiative and took the lead a minute later, Griffin showing good strength to run through and calmly slot home, after an uncharacteristic error by Matt Hayward saw him dispossessed when out of position. 1-0 Wycombe
The visitors nearly doubled their leads moments later, as Justin Gordon heroically cleared off the line from a corner kick.
At the other end Damon Ming went close with a driven effort, after a cross dropped to him just outside the area, but as has been the story in recent matches United were unable to make a breakthrough.
Griffin had another chance, but blazed his shot over the crossbar, before Wycombe netted again when exciting winger Ikechi Anya curled in a free-kick. 2-0 Wycombe
Next it was the turn of Andy Savage to miss a good chance. Having been played in he sliced his shot wide, although Justin Gordon did well to get across and apply pressure.
Right at the end of the game Goss wrapped up a good night's work by going on another probing run down the left flank, before playing in Gutzmore who fired wide to sum up United's evening.
