United's poor run of form continued as they slipped to a third successive defeat, this time a tame 1-0 loss at Bell Close to Stourbridge.
The newly promoted Glassboys visited having reached 2nd place in the league following an excellent start to their campaign, and they began in dominating style and could have scored from the kick-off when Mark Bellingham lobbed just over.
In the event the match was dour; lacking in entertainment and leaving most of the 170 strong crowd wondering what they'd paid their money for.
On the rare occasions Aylesbury did try and play football it seemed they could pose a genuine threat, but more often than not they resorted to hoofing the ball forward - and against Stourbridge's imposing back four of six-foot somethings - such a tactic was never going to work.
United's first chance came from a free-kick, although it was wasted by Aston Goss who blazed high over the crossbar. Then five minutes later Richard Pringle's knock-down setup Enzo Silvestri, who fired Aylesbury's best chance of the half into the arms of Lewis Solly.
Late in the half Stourbridge threatened when the dangerous Bellingham twisted and turned in the area before hitting a low and hard shot which was well gathered by Vincent.

The match improved slightly as a spectacle following the interval, but still both goalkeepers could have been included in the crowd attendance figure.
Five minutes into the second half there was some pressure when Kyle Kilmartin turned a corner kick back towards goal, which was subsequently sliced into the air by Jon Ford prompting a brief melee before the ball was cleared.
Two minutes later the re-united left sided combination of Mead and Goss linked up well, before the diminutive full-back delivered a fine cross which the arriving Andy Shed was inches away from converting.
But as hopes were rising of Aylesbury taking control of the match, the visitors scored to bring to an end United's momentum. The ball was played through to Bellingham, and he skipped past the despairing last ditch challenge to coolly finish past Vincent. 1-0 Stourbridge
Jon Franklin responded by quickly replacing Andy Shed with another striker Craig Henney, but it was Stourbridge who next went close to scoring when the ball was teed up on the left for a visiting player to hit a fierce shot which was deflected wide.
As the game entered the final 15 minutes, United had been no closer to scoring. With ten minutes remaining Aylesbury finally registered a shot at goal, when the ball dropped to Silvestri on the edge of the area but his left-footed half-volley zipped just over.
Then, right on full-time, another excellent Mead delivery picked out Silvestri in the area, but amongst a crowd of players he couldn't direct his header on target.
And with that Mr. Field blew for full-time. Aylesbury's performance had been better than against Sutton Coldfield, whilst full-backs Mead and Smyth both showed promise. It seems elsewhere on the field that the problems lie.
