After their disappointing defeat to Rothwell Town on Saturday, United bounced back in their sole remaining Cup competition to record an impressive 2-1 win over Slough Town, of the Ryman League Premier Division. Aylesbury's display was polished from start to finish, and the win was no more than they deserved.
A bright start from the away side saw the re-instated Nando Perna go close with a flicked effort, after he had switched the ball to Daniel Mead and taken the return.
United played some excellent football throughout, and a neat move three minutes later resulted in the ball being cut back to Enzo Silvestri on the edge of the area but he placed his shot over.
Nathan Liburd set up the next chance having broken forward from right-back to deliver an excellent cross, headed just wide by Leon Gutzmore. A Liam Smyth corner was then headed off-target by the unmarked Kevin Mealor who might have done better.
After a dominant opening fifteen minutes by Aylesbury, Slough finally came to life and created a chance of their own. Decent play by Town saw winger Terry Davies link up with Mark Bartley, before firing a low shot just wide.
United went close again, this time through Smyth, after Pringle held the ball up for him the midfielder drove his effort past the post.
Bartley was proving to be a live wire up front, and he managed to find some space for a shot which had the power but lacked in accuracy, curling away from the far post.
Davies proved to be Slough's biggest threat, and on 25 minutes he beat Liburd to the ball before nutmegging the defender and striking a firm shot which was beaten away by Vincent on his near post.
The breakthrough came after 35 minutes, amid much controversy. There was nothing wrong with the build-up though - a Mead cross from the left was headed goalwards by Pringle, producing a fantastic save by Kieron Drake to tip the ball wide.
The first corner kick came to nothing, headed behind again. The second one was cleared as far as Kevin Mealor, who quickly crossed back in, for a very offside looking Pringle to nod home without a defender in 5-yards of him. To his apparent disbelief there was no flag, and Aylesbury had a deserved lead. 1-0 Aylesbury
Aylesbury's lead lasted just three minutes, a long-throw undid United's otherwise strong defence, Carl Kavanagh at fault as he misjudged the flight of the ball allowing it to bounce through to Matt Miller, who wriggled away from Liburd and fired home from 2-yards out. 1-1
Its worth pointing out that despite his error, Kavanagh went on to have a fine game, making a number of crucial blocks, interceptions and tackles in the second half, and would have run Pringle close for man of the match.
United were keen to re-establish their lead before the break, and thats just what they did. On the stroke of half-time a long-ball was flicked on by Gutzmore into the path of Pringle, who ran through to slot home as coolly as you like with his left foot. 2-1 Aylesbury

Aylesbury picked up where they left off after the break, Smyth seeing a shot blocked on the edge of the area before Perna collected the ball but dragged his effort narrowly wide from 20-yards.
Pringle went in search of his hat-trick, visibly fired up, as he created space for himself but over-hit the shot and the ball ended up high and wide. He turned provider by playing in Mead, whose vicious effort was straight at Drake.
Excellent play around the edge of the penalty area eventually allowed Perna to volley for goal, but instead of being a special goal the ball dropped over the bar. Mealor then hit a free-kick from a full 30-yards which had to be smartly stopped by Drake in the bottom right corner.
In a mirror of the first half, Slough took fifteen minutes before their first effort came about, Davies again coming in-field and going for goal, but his effort was harmless and well off target.
A minute later the Rebels came close from a corner kick, after a weak punch by Vincent the ball dropped to a Slough player, but his looping header went over the vacant goal.
Slough were in their best spell of the match, but they couldn't make it count. Miller turned inside the area in similar fashion to his goal previously, but this time couldn't find the target.
Pringle was at it again at the other end, feeding on another flick by Gutzmore, running through and going for goal, his effort being plucked out of the air by Drake.
Further fantastic football from Aylesbury saw substitute Luke Melisi, replacing Smyth, beat his man on the right flank before playing in a low cross which Gutzmore met but Drake saved well.
Entering the final fifteen minutes of the match Slough were becoming increasingly desperate, and the passing game they had tried to employ had evaporated and been replaced with long-balls which were comfortably dealt with by the Ducks backline.
Indeed, the only two efforts Slough created in the closing stages were as a result of Leigh Mason drifting in with the ball and shooting for goal. His first effort was smashed well over the bar, the second in the final seconds of the game was fired straight at Vincent.
Aylesbury meanwhile had further good chances to add to their lead. Mead crossed low for Gutzmore, but he couldn't convert under heavy pressure, and Silvestri hit another shot from the edge of the box, but it was easily gathered by Drake.
With little stoppage time to add, referee Mr Rowley soon blew for full-time, and the Ducks celebrated an excellent result - to be rewarded with a home tie against Wycombe Wanderers in the Quarter Final.
