Although Solihull threatened little, it was they who had the first effort when a ball was Jack Byrne wasn't dealt with properly by Julian Old and fell into the path of Aaron Farrell who volleyed over.
United proceeded to create and waste a host of chances in the first half, Gutzmore had their first effort when he headed a corner kick over from 5-yards out. Liam Smyth then should have done better when he blazed over from inside the area after a long-throw dropped at his feet.
Gutzmore missed a similar chance a minute later after Luke Melisi played the ball through to him, but he also smashed a shot over the goal. It was Melisi who next went close, Smyth dinking a pass over the defence which the striker attempted to head past the advancing Tony Breedon but the keeper plucked the ball out of the air.
Efforts continued to come in quick succession, a run by Melisi released Mealor to the left of the area, his low drive was blocked but fell to Stevens who also had a shot blocked in the box.
Solihull had a rare two-minute spell of attacking when first Delton Francis weakly headed a cross which was easily held by Vincent. Francis then ghosted in behind the Aylesbury defence but with only Vincent to beat could only produce a powderpuff shot which trickled weekly to the keeper.
Normal service was soon resumed, Melisi really should have hit the target with a near-post header from Mealor's cross. Ben Stevens forced Breedon into a save when he outstretched a leg to connect with Gutzmore's deep cross. From the resulting corner the ball fell to Silvestri but he shot well over.
On the half hour mark Solihull caused problems again when two crosses into the box resulted in a goalmouth scramble from which Francis headed goalwards, but his effort was blocked by his own man en route to goal.
Melisi went close again at the other end when Smyth played him through, but from a tight angle he could only find the side netting.
Solihull had their best spell of the game in the final fifteen minutes of the first half. Jamie Petty hit a free-kick into the defensive wall, then from the follow-up Steven Ruck fired well wide.
Francis setup Phil Rowe with a great chance four minutes later, but he volleyed well wide. On the stroke of the half-time Francis was picked out with a searching cross, but his shot was blocked. The rebound was fired in low and hard, but Vincent did well to save with his legs.
Half-time: Aylesbury 0-0 Solihull
It seemed as though Aylesbury were going to regret their missed chances, and suffer another disappointing draw as the second half continued with little excitement.
Jack Byrne fired wide for Solihull, before Silvestri wasted another glorious chance. After spraying the ball wide for Mealor he got himself in position to receive the ball back, but fired off target.
A minute later the Boro counter-attacked with purpose, Farrell playing the ball into the path of Ruck, but he could only direct his fierce shot high and across the face of goal.
Aylesbury's misery in front of goal continued when Leon Gutzmore struck the post with a penalty after 76 minutes. Ben Stevens was clearly brought down in the area by Jerome Grandison, but as the spot-kick crashed off the upright it looked like it wasn't to be United's day.
As if the script had been written beforehand, it was to be Pringle, introduced as substitute five minutes earlier, who was to be Aylesbury's hero. Collecting the ball on the edge of the area he was given time to pick his spot, and crashed the ball home. 1-0 Aylesbury
The Ducks did a good job of closing down the remaining eleven minutes, but Solihull came close to equalising when a lofted ball caught Vincent in two minds and Lawrence Rawlings nipped in but could only head wide.
Pringle had another chance in similar fashion to his goal, but this time shot wide, and Silvestri shot over the bar again in the closing stages as Aylesbury recorded a much needed win.
