Promising young defender Chris Aslett was awarded his full debut at right-back and new signing Stuart Cattell was also included, but Kevin Mealor joined the lengthy injury list meaning a recall for Steve Miles.
A frantic start to the game saw Neil King force a good save from Vincent within five minutes after he wasn't closed down quickly enough, and then at the other end a fierce free-kick from Ben Stevens had to be tipped over by Finlay.
The early efforts continued, King curling a free-kick wide before Aylesbury's first gilt-edged miss of the afternoon. A lucky ricochet put Nathan Graham clean through, but he shot well wide with Finlay on the floor.
Ross Taylor should have at least hit the target when he headed over a corner on 14 minutes, and Henney had a shot easily held as the game began to turn into a one-way affair.
Graham had another good chance when he was played in from a quick free kick, but this time it was Finlay who denied him with a good low save.
Woodford went close with a rare moment of danger midway through the half as a dangerous free kick rebounded twice in the area before flying over the bar.
The Ducks threatened again soon after when Grham intercepted a poor pass, played a one-two before running on and producing a low shot that Finlay again saved.
Aslett's low ball into Henney set up the next chance, the diminutive striker firing a low shot which Finlay made another good save to keep out.
Graham was released yet again in the last five minutes, but couldn't get his shot away quickly enough. The ball fell to Shed 10-yards out, but his effort was blocked out for a corner, which was headed wide by Kavanagh.
Half-time: Woodford 0-0 Aylesbury
Aylesbury emerged from the break wondering how they weren't leading the game, and they soon set about trying to put things right when an exchange of passes ended with Graham shooting wide.
They were made to pay the ultimate price when Woodford took the lead. A corner kick dropped to ex-Duck Chris Jackson in the area and his favoured left-foot he fired hard and low through the crowd and into the net. 1-0 Woodford
The visitors were struggling to match their dominant display of the first half as things just weren't going their way, and Tony Thompson moved to an attacking formation with the introduction of Liburd on the left wing and Garricks on the right.
It paid dividends as Aylesbury finally started creating chances again, but not before Paul Lamb stole a march at the far post but could only head all the way across goal having been left free.
Nathan Graham's bad luck in front of goal continued when he half volleyed wide having been picked out with a raking pass.
The equaliser arrived with ten minutes remaining. Graham played a ball into the area which was flicked on inadvertently by a defender into the path of Shed, who swooped to head home. 1-1
Either side could still have grabbed a winner, and Woodford thought they had it when Sammy Ibrahim's header was dramatically cleared off the line, Thompson rightly going ballistic with the lack of marking from his defence.
Liburd was a menace in his new-found territory of the left flank, and he did well to get the ball to Henney whose shot trickled just wide of the post.
Ibrahim, who had been quiet all game, then had another chance in the last minute when he went for goal with a spectacular effort, but it flew well high and wide of the target.
A flowing move from Aylesbury rounded off the game, Shed finding Henney from the left, but he was tackled at the last moment before he could get a shot away, ensuring it finished 1-1.
