It took only three minutes for Aylesbury to equalise, a shot that was well saved from Gemma Franklin, the loose ball falling to Leigh Reed whose pass went to Twinkle Dean who made no mistake in getting it in the back of the net.
The first half finished with Aylesbury on top creating loads more chances but unable to convert.
The 2nd half began with Aylesbury continuing their dominance and within 10 minutes were 3-1 up. Aylesbury?s 2nd goal followed a corner from Suzie Cole, which came to Lucy Ilic who volleyed the ball into the net. This was Lucy?s first goal for the season and what a cracker it was! The 3rd goal came minutes later with Sarah Short finding Gemma Franklin who curled it past the keeper.
A 2nd goal for Gemma Franklin came 10 minutes later from another good delivery from Suzie Cole.
Within a further 5 minutes Aylesbury was 5-1 up, Beanie Cameron raced down the right hand side, cut inside, her vicious shot being parried by the keeper straight to Sarah Short who made no mistake in finishing. This was Sarah?s first ever senior goal for the club.
Aylesbury were well on top and did not sit back as in the 85th minute Beanie Cameron?s header was cleared off the line, which fell to Leanne Walker whose shot was again thwarted by a defender on the line.
The constant pressure told when in the 87th minute Sarah Gerrard put through a lovely ball to Suzie Cole who made scoring look easy!
This was a good win for Aylesbury, making up for the slight lapse they have had in recent games and they were well on top for the whole of the game with all the team playing well and as a unit.
This game marked the 100th appearance for Bethan Harris and Sarah Gerrard, Bethan being made captain for the occasion which she carried very well. The player of the match was awarded to Sarah Short which was thoroughly deserved.
