The Ducks made one enforced change to their starting line up with Beanie Cameron replacing the unavailable Leigh Reed.
United started well as Beth Harris set up Sarah Gerrard inside two minutes but the captain?s header was well saved before the home side countered and took the lead with their first attack.
Despite the early set back Aylesbury continued to battle and Beanie Cameron?s effort was somehow kept out by the Denham keeper before Sue Wynes had her first real effort which went just wide.
Good work between Wynes, Gerrard and Tine Jensen led to another good chance before United finally levelled when Sue Wynes broke free and slotted home with aplomb.
This should have been a positive turning point in the match but from the restart the Ducks seemed to lose concentration and Denham drove straight through the middle of the park to regain the lead.
Worse was to follow as the Middlesex side increased their lead on the half hour mark.
It?s a measure of how far the side have come in the last 15 months though that, rather than capitulate, the third Denham goal acted as a catalyst, pushing the players to work even harder.
A period of Aylesbury pressure followed which was rewarded a minute from the break when Sue Wynes found Susie Cole and the tricky winger fired home to reduce the deficit. And it could have been better as Lianne Turner picked out Wynes in space but the keeper did well to block the shot.
After the interval United continued their assault on the Denham goal as Sarah Gerrard set up Susie Cole, whose effort was saved, before a well crafted equaliser in which Cole found Cameron in space who unselfishly rolled the ball into the path of Wynes who couldn?t miss from yards out.
Leanne Walker and Lucy Ilic continued to improve together at the heart of the Aylesbury defence and were ably assisted by defensive midfielder Gemma Franklin, who more than once got a leg in to break up a Denham attack.
Walker then had a long range free kick saved as the Ducks pressed and they were finally rewarded with fifteen minutes remaining when substitute Emma Gardner was left in space and the sixteen year old debutante thrashed an unstoppable shot wide of the hapless keeper.
Right on time Gardner almost added another with a deft lob which the keeper just managed to get a hand to.
Manager Andy Foster was understandably delighted after the match ?That was one of the best all round displays the Ladies have made in my time at the club, especially as we?re still adjusting to life in the higher division, and it gives us the belief that we can achieve even better.?
The victory leaves United second in the table at this early stage with a home tie against Headington Athletic to look forward to next week.
