two goals in each half were enough to condemn them to successive League
defeats for the first time since March
The match was played in atrocious conditions and the home side adapted
more quickly putting the Ducks defence under pressure early on
However stand in keeper and player of the match Beanie Cameron put in a
sterling performance and kept Headington at bay until the 27th minute.
There was nothing Cameron could do about the slightly fortuitous second
either when an initial effort flew back off the crossbar and fell kindly for the
home striker who made no mistake firing the ball home before the break
The rain sodden Ducks then had a much better spell but were undone by two
further Headington goals during the second period
United finally got on the score sheet with about ten minutes remaining when
Suzie Cole broke free and stroked the ball past the diving home keeper
This seemed to spark a few nerves in the Oxford side and Aylesbury had a
couple of other half chances before the referee finally allowed everyone to go
off and dry out
