Struggled to cement a place in the first team over the next few seasons, until Chris Boothe selected him, rather bizarrely, at right-back in the 2003/04 opener. Unfortunately, having repeatedly impressed the managers, Danny struggled with injuries throughout the season. Scored two crucial FA Trophy games though, and had a good run in the team. Had a brief stint at Haywood United at the start of 2004/05, before returning to fight for his place in the team.
Eventually left the club for good and went on to play for Harpenden Town, Tring Athletic where he made more than 200 appearances, and Risborough Rangers.
