The next term he added just one more goal and his last game for United was the FA Cup tie at home to Walsall on 17/11/1990.
During his time at the club he played in all positions, including goalkeeper when Tim Garner suffered a pre-match injury at home to Harlow.
Steve's record at Aylesbury was 56+8 apps and 21 goals. In December 1990 the ex Spurs junior joined St. Albans City. He lasted just under a year, playing his last game in a 3-2 win v Sutton United at Clarence Park on 9/11/1991. Steve totalled 34 appearances and 6 goals for Saints.
He then joined Stevenage and was a member of their 1991/92 Division One Championship side.
Steve is best remembered for his no-nonsense playing approach which got him into hot water and the ref's notebook on many occasions, but also for his cracking volleyed goals in the 1989/90 season when even the great Hercules came second to him in the goalscoring charts.
